The International Consultation Conference on Guangdong Economic Development (2007) will be held from November 15 to 16 in Guangzhou, The News Office of Guangdong Government announced at a press briefing on Monday.
CEOs from the Worlds Top 500 companies will participate as economic advisors (17 persons) and observers (5 persons) and give counsel on the future economic development of Guangdong province at the conference. The consultation conference has become an important platform for Guangdong to communicate with other countries since 1999.
Compared to previous years, 9 advisors among the 17 in total are new. Of the new advisors, 6 are from new companies that didn¡¯t attend the conference before.
Among the 17 advisors, 15 are from manufacturing and service industries. Over one third of advisors are from insurance, risk investment, software design, consulting and trading industries, which is consistent with the development trends of the service industry in Guangdong province.
The conference will focus on three areas: creative incentive mechanisms, innovation and international cooperation and capital requirements innovation.
Another four special forums will be held at the White Swan Hotel in Guangzhou on the morning of November 16.
Furthermore, 2 advisors will give lectures at Sun Yat-sen University and South China University of Technology on November 14 and 16, with another 2 advisors at University Town on November 13, unlike previous years.
