As of March 28th, 2008 four Museums in Guangzhou (the Guangdong Provincial Museum, the Museum of the Peasant Movement Institute, the Museum of Sanyuanli Militia Battle against British forces During the Opium Wars and the Museum of Huangpu Military Academy) are open free to visitors.

Free entry does not mean entry without tickets. Citizens shall provide their ID cards in order to obtain free tickets from the booking offices which are issued in limited numbers each day. Visitors like preschool and primary school children, senior citizens and the disabled must be accompanied otherwise they will not be allowed entry into the museums. Additionally, the old and the disabled shall enjoy priority booking services. The ticket is valid only for the day when it is issued.

Too, the museums will provide free services in relation to wheelchairs, personal luggage service, commentaries and drinking water.
