The 6th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music will kick off in Guangzhou from December 13th to 20th, 2007, which will be the 4th Golden Bell Award to be held in Guangzhou. This Golden Bell Award includes over 40 plays simultaneously in the Xinghai Concert Hall and Baiyun International Conference Center. There are also more than 30 performances, including the opening and closing ceremonies and other auxiliary performances.

The awards for the 6th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music include Production Awards which cover both national folk chamber music works and national song works, Performance Awards which include the National Piano Competition, National Violin Competition and the National Vocal Competition held in Guangzhou, the Theoretical Comment Awards which compete in the four categories of Music Aesthetics, National Musicology, History of Music and Music Critique, and the Lifetime Achievement Award which will be awarded to the highly prestigious aged musicians after the appraisal of the jury and with the confirmation of the Organizing Committee, who were selected by the Golden Bell Awards Organizing Committee according to the approved quota and candidate requirements.

The tickets for the 6th Chinese Golden Bell Award for Music were already on sale at the end of October. The tickets for viewing and emulation for the opening ceremony, the closing ceremony, vocal music and violin performance have been completely sold out.
